Isn’t there something about summer that makes us want to get out and explore? Well, those sun-filled, warm-breeze days are back (thank goodness), and you’ll be looking for fun summer activities and events! 

Aside from sunbathing, wearing cute sun dresses, or just sitting in the air conditioning, there are a few area events you should not miss this summer!

Unicorn Festival – June 25-26

Location: Clement Park, 7306 West Bowles Avenue, Littleton

Cost: $15 to $79 (kids 2 and under free)

Spend a lovely weekend in a fantastical, magical universe! Unicorn corrals, photo ops, a dragon slide obstacle course, mermaid lagoon, Storytime Cottage, character selfies, karaoke, and more are available throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday. 

Summer Horseshoe Market at Breckenridge Brewery in Littleton – June 25

Location: Breckenridge Brewery, 2920 Brewery Lane, Littleton

Cost: Free

Invite your friends and family, grab a beer, and shop over 50 makers, vintage and flea curators, and small businesses at the Summer Horseshoe Market.

1800s Independence Day – July 2

Location: Littleton Museum, 6028 S. Gallup Street, Littleton

Cost: Free

Enjoy a variety of activities. Enjoy a baseball game using 1864 rules or create a pennant and learn the cheers for your favorite Rough & Readies team. Try kids’ competitions like sack races, 3-legged races, and more.

Littleton Twilight Criterium – August 6

Location: Downtown Littleton, Main Street & Prince Street

Cost: Free to watch, but participation starts at $40.

In conjunction with USA Cycling and America’s greatest criterium races, a full day of bike racing will take place, including professional men’s and women’s races. Make it a wonderful day with a beer garden, live music, and a family cruiser ride.

Western Welcome Week – August 12-21

Location: Greater Littleton Area

Cost: Varies, depending on events

Western Welcome Week is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that hosts an annual community celebration in the Littleton area. Western Welcome Week began in the late 1920s and has continued to this day. Western Welcome Week features more than 40 events produced by more than 20 organizations, with proceeds benefiting dozens of local civic and charitable organizations. Western Welcome Week is funded by ticket sales, vendor fees, event admission fees, private donations, and individual and corporate sponsorships. Events include parades, fireworks, live music, 5k run/walks, car shows, and more. 

Affordable Arts Festival – August 28

Location: Arapahoe Community College

Cost: $12 per person

Every year in August, on the Sunday before Labor Day weekend, over 160 artists from all over the country descend on Colorado to provide art collectors with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase exquisite art for $100 or less. They serve coffee and pastries for the masses of art enthusiasts who arrive hours before they open the gates. You’ll know that your entry ticket will enable scholarships at Arapahoe Community College.
