Enjoy hiking? Head to Reynolds Park to check out one of many trails, including Eagle’s View, Elkhorn, Oxen Draw, and Raven’s Roost. Horseback riding, mountain biking, and camping are also very popular within the park.
Engage in various recreational activities with the help of their staff of qualified and knowledgeable guides, including zipline trips down Colorado’s longest zipline, whitewater rafting, and rock climbing.
Fishing Around Conifer
Within Dedisse Park, Evergreen Lake is located around 7 miles from the city. In addition to suckers and splake, it is stocked with two different species of trout. Chatfield Lake can be found 15 minutes to the east. The water’s 1,500 acres are home to bass, sunfish, and crappie. There are two ramps where boats can launch.
Hiking Around Conifer
The nearest hiking location to the town is the Flying J Ranch trailhead, which has flat paths through forestland. The area is also well-liked for trail riding and running. A wonderful family choice is Maxwell Falls. To reach a stunning waterfall, you must climb for roughly an hour. Hike through an open field at James Q Newton Park to enjoy stunning mountain vistas.
Go Camping!
On Highway 285, Staunton State Park is located west of the city. It has tent camping spots that must be reached by hiking at least a few hundred yards. It’s a lovely park to stroll in in the summer and the fall.
